Theatre Day 2019
Beacon High School, Spackenkill High School and Beacon Performing Arts Center have joined forces to host “Theater Day” on September 21, 2019. The event to be held at Beacon High School and the goal is to provide students with a great educational experience that hopefully will open doors on so many levels, we are sponsored by Arts Mid-Hudson. So what is Theater day ...September 21..a day when students from high schools in and around Dutchess County and Westchester County are invited to attend a free day of performance and technical workshops, hosted by Beacon High School, and Beacon Performing Arts Center, sponsored by Arts Mid Hudson, BeaconArts and Beacon Chamber of Commerce. It is a day that is designed to provide educational theatrical guidance in various fields while students can interact with each other from different schools and talk about the things they love the most, theater. We have been sharing a Press Release to directors, theater teachers, principals and superintendents of high schools in Westchester and Dutchess Counties announcing the event and registration, The event is free so that all students can attend. We will also provide breakfast and lunch for the participants all at no charge through donation and the hard work of our Theater Day volunteers. Students simply send an email to: beacononstage@gmail.com with their name, school and grade. This will be our fourth Theater Day and these events have been filled through the end of this school year and the Summer ahead. At our 2017 Theater day we capped at 250 students and expanded to 300. Theater Day is designed for High School students and for Middle School students in the seventh and eighth grade. After registering online, students will be able to peruse the workshops that will be offered. Here are some of the exciting workshops we are offering!!
